For Pam's Birthday we decided to travel up to Stroud. As we did this on a whim no research was done and we paid the full price for not booking our train tickets in advance which cost around £60.
When we arrived in Stroud we were disappointed by the size of the town and the thuggish people who were wondering around the streets. So after rummaging around an old junk shop, and on the advice from the owner, we jumped on a bus to Nailsworth, a small village about minutes away.

Nailsworth |
Nailsworth is small but there's lots of nice little independent local stores well worth checking out, plus the village itself is well worth exploring as it's full of beautiful architecture. The pub we visited was good too with very friendly staff.

Overall I would recommend Nailsworth, and I will hopefully return to Stroud someday, but it will be booked in advance.
